Cinescare Horror Film Festival | Brand Identity & Festival Launch

I was commissioned to develop a comprehensive brand identity for a new horror film festival in Burbank, California. The objective was to create a distinct and functional visual mark that effectively targets the dedicated horror cinema community while asserting a premium, professional presence within the competitive regional festival landscape.

Strategic Objectives & Implementation:

  • Thematic Art Direction: Developed a high-impact, thematic identity, featuring stylized creature and film iconography within a structured circular seal. This visual metaphor directly merges the cinematic (film reel) and the macabre (tentacled monster), establishing immediate rapport with horror film enthusiasts.

  • Target Audience Engagement: Optimized the visual language to appeal to a broad spectrum of the horror genre’s fan base, utilizing a robust, classic aesthetic and bold, legible typography. The core title, CINESCARE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL, is prominent and impactful.

  • Production-Ready Versatility: Designed the entire visual system with diverse and high-fidelity production applications in mind. The logo, as depicted on various Cinescare Horror Film Festival merchandise including t-shirts and hoodies, is engineered for seamless reproduction across physical touchpoints, ensuring visual integrity on:

    • Screen-printed apparel and festival uniforms.

    • Embroidered patches and promotional merchandise.

    • High-resolution digital interfaces and social media assets.

  • Scalable Graphic Architecture: Prioritized clean linework and an adaptable composition to ensure the brand remains coherent and impactful across all scales, from digital thumbnails to massive promotional banners.
