Rock The Wood 2025: The Guitar God | Branding & Event Strategy

As the Creative Director and Lead Talent Coordinator for the Rock The Wood summer concert series, I oversee the seasonal programming and visual identity for one of the region's premier outdoor entertainment venues. The 2025 season focused on an "immersion-first" design philosophy, aimed at bridging the gap between the performer and the audience.

Strategic Event Production & Record Engagement:

  • Talent Curation & Project Management: Orchestrated the procurement and scheduling of 55 professional musical acts, ensuring high-caliber, consistent programming every Friday and Saturday throughout the summer season.

  • Market Leadership: Through refined promotional strategies and immersive branding, the 2025 series continued its trajectory of success, maintaining a massive draw of over 65,000 guests and solidifying the venue’s reputation as a cultural cornerstone.

  • Perspective-Driven Visual Identity: Developed the “Guitar God” concept, for the 2025 season. By featuring the central figure from a rear-perspective, the design creates a powerful psychological “on-stage” experience for the viewer, fostering a deeper sense of belonging and excitement.

  • Specialized Production Techniques: Engineered an innovative retail strategy by utilizing luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) ink for the celestial elements and primary typography on all apparel. This technical choice enhanced the attendee experience during evening performances and provided a high-value differentiator for merchandise sales.

  • Multichannel Campaign Suite: Executed a cohesive visual narrative across a variety of high-visibility touchpoints:

    • Large-Format Print: Seasonal posters featuring the moonlit amphitheater aesthetic to anchor the festival’s atmospheric tone.

    • Staff & Public Apparel: High-contrast designs optimized for nighttime visibility and maximum retail appeal.

    • Artist Relations: Integrated partner recognition, such as Pieler Productions, into the secondary visual architecture to maintain professional industry standards.

  • Strategic Asset Engineering: Optimized all assets for peak performance across diverse substrates—ensuring the intricate vector silhouettes and specialized inks maintained visual integrity from digital displays to physical textiles.
